The Sacrifice I had to make for Priority

I'm back. Yeap.. Couldn't get access to the internet at home since our motherboard was out. Need to send it for repair(luckily it is still under warranty). Anyways, had a little 'reunion' kind of gathering with the buddies yesterday for berbuka puasa. The venue,.. had to be somewhere where we could have a real hang out kind of somewhere good to chill(and also anywhere where I can make reservation in advance). So Marche was it. I did make a reservation at Italiannies as well. Keeping the options open, last minute decision can happen. Both are in The Curve, one on the other end, and the other on the other end. Big deal! Since we've had many luncheons and dinners at Italiannies before, so we decided on Marche.

Arrived there just in time to break fast. Upon arrival, there were long queues everywhere at almost every stall. Since it was my 2nd visit to Marche, so I was familiar with the place and how things go around there. So, instead of joining queues, I went to stalls where there was no one or probably about 2-3 people queuing to get food. We went for the RM38++ buffet(exclusive of beverages and desserts). Ya, it was kind of pricey, but I had a great time because of the company I had.(Thank You Everyone for making it last night. You guys are the best!).

Anyways, this is the last week I'll be working with this executive search firm which I have been its administration executive since June 7th 2007. I got offered to work with OCBC Bank next Monday. But all probational first. No confirmations yet(not keeping my hopes high-which I'm not sure if its a good thing to do or not). Anyways, because I've accepted this offer, I have to forgo my trip to Birmingham which I have been waiting for. Oh man.. Plane ticket had been purchased and I've been countdown-ing months and days for it. But work is priority. I can't just turn down this opportunity for a 2 weeks trip, and when I return home, I'll be jobless. That's even worst, right? So I'm keeping myself positive about what's coming and happening to me: Work is work. I need the money. Some sacrifice, huh?

Til' then, Cheerios~

Lethargic

Ohh...,why do I feel that time is taking its own sweet time to fly? It is moving so slow today. With the day already totally monotonous, I just can't wait til 5 to go home. Doing the same thing in office(not that I'm complaining) of keying in datas into the database, saving this and that, back up-ing this, categorizing that,... am I to be blame if I make a noise abt this here? Fellow colleagues are playing "The Converse-with-less-than-5-words-for-the-day" game today(probably, they too are feeling bored and lethargic).

Anyways, I've been absent on the first 2 starter-days of the week. Therefore, work of those 2 days are all piled up in pending mode, all ready for me to recommence when I come to the office, which is-TODAY!

Last weekend, a friend of my brother's brother, had died in an accident. He was hit by a car. He wasn't driving or even in a vehicle-he was walking. Apparently, he was walking home from the mosque after Terawih prayers when he was hit. He was only 15 years old. May his soul rest in peace and be in good place and amongst good souls. My deepest condolences to his family.

Til' my next entry, take care people. Cheerios~

Health-Alarm #1- Effects of Cold Water

For those who like to drink cold water, this entry is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal. A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive. Spread this, let people be aware of it, for you may save lives.

It's never too late. Til' then, take care and have a good day.

Girl Society Band??

OK Hello Peeps. So, since my last entry was about some songs, I don’t see why I shouldn’t post this entry with yet, another song. On my way back home from work yesterday evening, I was tuning to Mix FM if I was not mistaken. And they were playing this song which I’ve never heard of before. It was by Saving Jane. The one who sang “Girl Next Door”, remember? Anyways, why I thought of mentioning this new song discovery by myself is because of (again) the lyrics. Well, I fancy songs based on their lyrics. So anyways, this song is called, “One Girl Revolution”. (Notice this is another of Saving Jane’s song about a girl? Some girl power they have although there’s only a female in the band).

One Girl Revolution Lyrics

Raise your hand if your lipstick
Doesn’t make you a dumb chick
Raise your hand if the shape of your hips don’t compare
To the shape of your mind
You don’t even stand a chance
I’m not taking off my pants
I’m here to start a one girl revolution
I’m not a barbie doll, shopping mall, silicone substitution
I thought I told ya, I’m a soldier
And I ain’t leavin’ til the battle’s over
One girl revolution.
Raise your hand if you’re smart, girls
More than pushups and pearls
Let em stare at our pictures, baby
While we take over the world
Raise your hand if you’re not another carbon copy
Wannabe like everybody else
Raise up your hand if you got something more to say
I’m here to start a one girl revolution
I’m not a perfect ten, paper thin, Hollywood illusion
I thought I told ya, I’m a soldier
And I ain’t leavin’ til the party’s over
One girl revolution.
What are we sellin?
Our brains or our belly buttons?
What are you buyin?
Don’t you know that they’re lying?
What are you cryin about, don’t just sit there and wait
While they’re selling us out!
You don’t even stand a chance
I’m not taking off my pants
I’m here to start a one girl revolution
I’m not the Girl Next Door anymore, baby I’m an institution
I thought I told ya, don’t wanna know ya
Pack your bags baby cause this army’s takin’ over
I’m here to start a one girl revolution
I’m the kinda chick that leaves you cryin’ for your mother
Keep on lookin if you’re lookin for a cookie cutter
I’m here to start a revolution

Cool, huh?

In the means of talking about songs, Nelly Furtado’s “Do It” is kinda catchy, huh? Been shakin’ and swingin’ my body, and turnin’ myself around on my chair in the office with my colleague to this beat the whole week (Think I’m having fun? Think again).Makes me wanna dance. (Wonder when was the last time I hit the dancefloor).
What do you think?
Til then, stay out of trouble. Cheerios~

Will you wait forever?

I came across this stanza by Air Supply (don't ask why was I encountered with such verse), and it made my lethargic mind workin' its way back alive. The verse goes like this:

I will wait for you
For a thousand summers will wait for you
Til you're here beside me, til I'm holding you
And forever more sharing your love
The clock will tick away the hours one by one
And then the time will come when all the waiting's done
The time when you return and find me here and run
Straight to my waiting arms
If it takes forever

And then I went, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
Ok, you all have got to agree with me that those are corny. CORNY LINES, y'read me? I mean, yea, its nice having to hear that from your loved one. But seriously, the waiting part? How long can you wait? What, til FOREVER? Haha....C,mon, seriously.
I have to agree however, though, with what Snow Patrol had come up with in their hit, "Signal Fire":

The perfect words never crossed my mind,
'Cause there was nothing in there but you,
I felt every ounce of me screaming out,
But the sound was trapped deep in me,
All I wanted just sped right past me,
While I was rooted fast to the earth,
I could be stuck here for a thousand years,
Without your arms to drag me out,
There you are standing right in front of me,
All this fear falls away to leave me naked,
Hold me close 'cause I need you to guide me to safety.
No I won't wait forever

This is more like it - REALITY. What seems to be possible in this time, this life. The desperation, the lose of faith or hope or whatever you call it. The one by Air Supply sound like, if you don't/can't wait for whoever, they'll be gone, and you'll die!!(No offense to Air Supply and those who "dig" that song). On the other hand, the one by Snow Patrol sound like, although you hope for whoever to come or to save you or to do whatever to you, and they don't, but you move on, instead of crying a river(hmm, sounds familiar, how come? I wonder). It makes you pathetic if you do, y'know. Surviving I would call it. Not relying on whoever. It's you who'll leave. You got to show whoever that you mean business, err, I mean, serious. If whoever can't save you, someone else can. It's harsh, I know, but there's this what people call "dignity" that you shouldn't be forgetting about.
So there goes. I'm just pouring my heart out here. It's what some bloggers do here, right? If I offended anyone,.... my bad, my apologies.
Til then, cheerios~

Celebration for the future newlyweds

So okayy, I know this is my 2nd entry for today, but so what. I've not been blogging for a few days. Besides, I want to share with you faithful readers of my last weekend. I went to Bandar Baru Bangi to attend to the engagement of my beloved former house-mate. Upon arrival, I was already late about 10 minutes. She, the future bride, looked lovely as ever. She was dressed in an off-white kebaya and she was just sweet with her hair pulled to one side. Anyways, you can picture her better if you see her yourself, so I'm posting pictures of her and us guests and friends, and the day itself here in this entry.

So okay, this is me and the future bride.

Hang on girls. You two are next!

Ok. The one about to smooch the future bride's
cheek is not her future mother-in-law. That's just Lissa.

There. Picture perfect. The future newlyweds.

There you go guys. The few 4 pictures of the happy day. We are happy for both of them. Yuya & Jack, congratulations on your engagement. We can't wait for the wedding.

Til then, readers, cheerios~
